Description

The W500 Floor Heating Thermostat supports both Thread and Zigbee for seamless integration with third-party ecosystems, making it suitable for electric and hydronic heating systems. It allows connection of an NTC floor sensor or an external Aqara sensor, offering features such as remote control, smart scheduling, and power monitoring — all contributing to enhanced home comfort and energy efficiency.

Strengths

Thread/Zigbee Support: The device features dual protocol support. In Thread mode, no Aqara hub is required to connect with third-party Matter ecosystems, while Zigbee mode unlocks exclusive Aqara features and ensures backward compatibility with traditional Aqara Zigbee hubs without compromising Matter support. The flexible protocol switching allows users to choose between Matter integration or advanced Aqara features based on their preferences.
Multiple Control Methods: The device offers various control options, including physical buttons, app control, voice commands, and scheduling. Its smart scheduling feature allows users to create personalized heating programs with up to 7 time periods per day across all 7 days of the week. It also includes 5 preset modes for added convenience. Once schedules are set, they run locally on the device, even if the internet is disconnected or the device is accidentally removed from the hub.
Precise Temperature Control: Adjust temperature with high accuracy thanks to multiple sensor options and temperature calibration. The device can read temperature and humidity data from various sources, including built-in sensors, wired NTC floor sensors, or paired Aqara temperature and humidity sensors. It supports temperature calibration within a ±0–5? range, allowing fine-tuning for precise temperature control.
Stay Warm Without Interruption: Set custom temperature limits (0.5–3?) around your target and reduce frequent on-off cycling of your heating system. This ensures a more stable indoor environment and avoids sudden temperature changes. It improves overall comfort, reduces energy consumption by preventing unnecessary switching, prolongs equipment lifespan, and enhances energy efficiency.
Energy Saving: Monitor real-time energy usage and track daily/monthly consumption to better manage heating efficiency. If a window is left open (detected by an Aqara door and window sensor), the heating will automatically pause to prevent energy waste. Even without a sensor, sudden temperature drops trigger a 30-minute pause to save energy. Supports whole-home energy consumption tracking in the Aqara Home app when connected to an Aqara hub.
Continuous Protection for Endurance and Safety: The device is equipped with various safety mechanisms to effectively protect your heating system and home environment. Flooring material protection prevents overheating of sensitive floor coverings. Anti-freeze protection automatically heats when the temperature nears 5°C to prevent freezing. Overheat and overload protection automatically shuts down the device when temperature or power exceeds safety limits.
